Responsibilities

Health Data Services provides technology solutions and professional consulting services to our clients in three key areas: data integration, analytic tools, and cloud-based commercial marts and hubs.  Leveraging Symphony's comprehensive data assets, Vantage Applications, Health Cloud platform and data integration capabilities, the HDS practice offers customized technology-enabled services to client and act as a key interact with internal technology and operations platforms.

 

HDS is hiring a Data Scientist to join our team. This professional will be intricately involved in creating various Machine Learning-based tools and processes using our Symphony data assets (Medical and Rx claims, Lab data, EMR, Remittance data…) along with customer and publically available datasets. The primary focus will be in applying data mining techniques, doing statistical analysis, and building high quality prediction systems integrated with our reporting applications

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Works in collaboration with the HDS team members to understand the needs for each category of products and solutions (Commercial effectiveness, Clinical and Lab, Patient Journey…).
  • Suggest possible solutions, communicate results and ideas to key stakeholders.
  • Research and develop statistical learning models for data analysis.
  • Implement new statistical or other mathematical methodologies as needed for specific models or analysis.
  • Work closely with our BI development team to integrate the above solutions in our reporting solutions.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest technology trends and educate the team members on predictive and prescriptive analytics.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, and 1-2 years’ experience.
  • Experience in large volume data analysis and big data (RDBMS/HDFS)
  • Machine Learning algorithms
  • R and/or Python, SAS/WPS a plus
  • Shiny
  • ETL (Alteryx a plus).
  • Expertise in understanding relational database structures.
  • Proven exceptional internal or external customer service
  • Experience with BI and Reporting tools (Tableau, Qlik) is a plus

 

Travel Requirements:  No travel is required at the beginning but might be up to 25% of the time as we launch products.
